DON'T FAVE UNLESS YOU'RE GOING TO READ MY COMMENT.

I'm very torn about posting my tiger pictures from Bush Gardens. You see the public has been horribly misled about "white tigers" and although they are beautiful they are also horribly inbred disrespectfully marketed examples of how man kind cares just a little bit more about money than it does about actual conservation of species. A white tiger is a bengal tiger with a resessive gene called leucism, or lack of pigment and is extremely rare, in fact every white tiger in the united states today is related and inbred together. Want to know more? Big cat Rescue has an excellent page on the history of the "Royal White Tiger" [link]

I chose in the end to share these because they are beautiful pictures and the animals themselves did nothing but be born, but as always I felt the need to educate in addition to the visual sharing.

It is great that you are educating people about these animals and the awful inbreeding that has resulted from people's weird obsession with that coloration.

I would like to let you know, however, that you can rest easy in posting pictures of these guys. All of Busch Gardens' tigers came from an outside place, and they do not breed their tigers at all. This lovely lady is Khana. She is lucky to be with BGA. As a result of her inbreeding, she has pancreatic issues and receives special supplements to her diet. :)
