I have been made the co founder of a brand new group here on the DA that I think some of you might really find helpful and fun: ! This is a group for those who appreciate red lining and critiques and want to share their WIP's to get opinions on ways to fine tune their art before completion. I wrote a pretty long blog about my personal outlook on critiques over there, so if you're interested make sure you check it out! Just remember: a good critique is about building others up and setting them up to learn and become better, not tearing them down. Always be courteous and helpful!

Ah news years. My husband tried to set me on fire with 15 billion small fireworks he tied together and then told me to "record them"..... Perhaps some day I will share the video... I was pelted with little flaming pieces of cardboard T_T No worries, my ego was hurt more than my body. I really only made one resolution this year, and that was a direct result of my recent poll which was by popular vote, to comment more than I fave. I will still fave of course, but everyone loves comments best so I will do my best to keep them lively and not zombie "cutes" or heaven forbid a "KAWII!!!" Have YOU left anyone an elating comment today? Wouldn't you like it if you got one?

I feel like I owe you guys an explanation because frankly I have been slacking big time on my comic I started this year. PAINTED! Started as last year's new years resolution. I wanted to challenge myself with the compositions and formatting it takes to compile a story told by pictures, and I dove in with both feet in my opinion! The more I research the more I note that most comic artists start out much simpler than I did, in black and white or flat colors for example, each page thus far as taken me 20+ hours, no wonder I haven't been able to keep my promise of a page per week! D8

I do have the story laid out for several more pages and I will be releasing the rest of the first chapter in January, as I am very very busy finishing Holiday gifts this month. One of the other big issues is that as you all know if you read my plans for the story, Sanura is about to become an orphan. While sad, this will lead to her adoption into the painted dog pack, which is where the story and adventures really lay ahead. While this has been my intention from the get go, I am having trouble finishing the pages involving Osumare; because as someone who lost their own mother as a youth this is hitting a bit more personally than I ever could have imagined. I guess that is just how it is, when you truly pour your heart into characters.

Anyway, I wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season and a brilliant New Year, thanks for sticking with me and understanding my latency!

Hey guys! I have been pondering this for a while now, but recent happenings of not getting commissions/trades on time have really turned me off of the internet and this site in particular. Anyways, moving on, I would like this to involve my closer aquiantences more than brand new people who come across this because frankly: I'm tired of giving away free art to strangers!

I can't think of anything I want more this holiday season than to increase my "art wall" of original pieces from artists I have met. I would like to return the favor as well! First of all, my family has a tradition of saying what they are thankful for around the table on Thanksgiving... I just wanted to say thank you to all of you, DA always makes my day whether I express it or not!

~I'm thankful you all have been so patient with me about my comic, as well as enthusiastic when I do release a page!

~I'm thankful for all my watchers whose numbers keep growing every time I look!

~I'm thankful for all the faves and especially the detailed comments you guys take the time to write!

Thanksgiving isn't my favorite holiday, but since this was my third year of hosting dinner for my husband's family I'm fairly pleased. Living in South Florida means that I can have a nice outdoor setup... especially this year since I planted about 20 new plants in my garden and added new features such as a humming bird feeder, and thermomitor/sun dial... not to mention doing most of the cooking since half of my normal guests bailed on me with less than a week's notice... ah the joys of family! I made the best gravy to date though, and fyi stove top stuffing with fresh home made chicken stock and sausage baked in is AWESOME!!! (I caught my brother in law drinking it right out of the pitcher after I'd stashed the rest in the fridge LOL)

Not much else new here, I just really wanted to get my car woes off my front page, I'm just happy the hassle is over. I would LOVE to hear how everyone's holiday went!

My car was indeed, totalled and we decided it was time to say goodbye to it, the funds i raised are going to be used to pay off the diagnostics and towing that transpired. Also, I got a new-ish car! It is a gun metal grey 2009 Focus, I'm in love! We didn't want to have another payment over our heads right now, but we'll get by, we always do.
