Red ruffed lemurs live in social groups in Madagascar and by far in my opinion are some of the loveliest primates in the animal kingdom. This matriarchal society spends it's mornings and evenings foraging for pollen and fruits and this species and it's sister species of white ruffed lemurs are the only primates to have "litters" of young instead of one.
Here is my second animal for the 100 animal challenge I tried to shy away from leaving much of the original ink line work in the picture and as I work in on layer I must say this took a LOT longer than I had anticipated and I'm not entirely satisfied.. although to be honest that was why I accepted this challenge, to learn and grow as an artist
