The Malayan Tapir or "tenuk" as it is called in it's native language. While they look like giant pigs their closest relative is the rhino. The Malayan Tapir is the largest of the four species remaining on the planet and the only Asian species, the others being located in South America.
This mother and calf were a LOT of fun to draw, they are very odd creatures but also very gentle and peaceful for their huge size of 6-8 feet long and up to 4 feet tall. I'm not as pleased with the background, which I was wrestling with at 4am last night but in the end I decided this was good enough for now
*sorry if this popped up twice, reuploaded after smoothing a few things out *
great... you always do something amzing with the eyes.... love the expresion in your art.... and the background is just perfect... make the tapir just pop out... great work
